Temporary coverage dentist
I am taking a 2 year dental hygenist program in college, and I was just wondering do dental hygenist make pretty good money, i know they dont make as much as dentist’ make ofcourse. Depends on what state you are in. But again, it really depends on where you practice. I think hygienists in California make the most, but it’s because of high living expenses. I think overall hygiene is a really great career with good pay considering only 2 years of schooling.

Many people would rather put money away for their kid’s education and their own retirement. They all push Invisalign, veneers, and Zoom teeth whitening now because that’s where the big money is nowadays. Dentists for the most part make a fortune. Doctors make good money,but not really compared to how much time is spent just taking care of business. At this point I think of dentists as technicians. For what they do they are supremely well paid. I had this conversation with my banker recently.
He said that dentists tend to be very keen business people, very money oriented. Their expenses are high since they need to buy all the equipment and pay rather expensive help, and they have a fortune tied up in insurance claims, so the early years can be tough.
Once they get rolling though, they do very well indeed and they hold on to their money and invest it. Medical Doctors have a higher income, but they aren’t as focused and they tend to spend it as quickly as it comes in. His point was that by the time they’re 50 a good dentist will have a higher net worth than most doctors. Fuck no, mofo. I believe the average dentist has as much education as a primary care doctor.
Othrodontists, oral surgeons, and other specialists have. Medical doctors may save lives or cure major illnesses, dentists not so. Dentists have a very high suicide rate, right? Dentists go to dental school for 4 years.
It isn’t nearly as difficult as medical school because you are only focusing on the mouth. In med school, you focus on all the body systems. I don’t know if they ever reinstituted it. But most dental school grads don’t do a residency. Medical school grads are required do a residency in order to be board certified. My friend’s first husband was an oral surgeon. He graduated from dental school and did a residency in oral surgery through his dental school after graduation.
I know a few gay oral surgeons who specialize in complicated dental procedures, like implants, and they’re all rich and live in multi-million dollar homes.

Dentists generally make very good incomes, but when you have your own practice, you’re like any other small businessperson: if you don’t know how to run a business, you’re in trouble. The fact that the business provides professional services doesn’t change.
And I bet that dentists are finance-orinted, because the work is deeply unpleasant and not very rewarding. Have you ever worked as a Dentist? Being a dentist is extremely rewarding. Diagnosing oral conditions and artistically reconstructing a person’s smile and confidence is a wonderful thing. Dentists rarely get unhappy patients, nor do they have to inform family member’s that they couldn’t save a patients life.
Dentist are financially oriented because they have to worry about production in their practice. A physician doesn’t deal with a procedure’s costs, whereas dentists are always talking with their patients about money.
Seeing the difficulties their patients have at paying allows them to see the value of money. Now add this to the fact that they have to constantly think about production and costs of equipment and personnel, and you can see why a dentists would be more financially savvy. And even if you do get one, the best life of a root canal is 10 years.
